ENJOY A GUIDED TOUR
DAILY WALK-IN DOCENT TOURS
Our docents take you back in time and bring the history of the museum to you. No reservations are required for docent tours, which are available on weekends from at 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM (weather and staff permitting).
Docents at the museum offer a 9-minute film on the history of the fort before providing a map of the parade grounds, highlighting which buildings/exhibits are open to the public. Visitors are welcome to tour the grounds from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, seven days a week.
HISTORY ON HORSEBACK
Ride along historic trails on our guided History on Horseback tours. Interpretive rides take place on the second Saturday of the summer months (except July) beginning May 11, 2019. Cost is $25 per rider and you need to bring your own horse. Learn more >
PRIVATE GROUP TOURS
Visitors are welcome to explore the grounds of Fort Stanton State Monument at any time, year round. We can also provide private group tours for groups of 10 or more on request at no extra charge during Museum Hours.
FORT STANTON AFTER DARK
Don't miss this one-of-a-kind opportunity to explore the grounds and buildings of Fort Stanton after dark. Hosted in June and October, the cost is $5 and children under 12 FREE. Learn more >
