Living History Day at Fort Stanton

Join us at Fort Stanton Historic Site on Saturday, July 12, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for our monthly Living History Day. The day begins with a flag raising ceremony at 10:00, followed by a guided walking tour of the historic cemetery at 11:00 with Interpretive Ranger Javier. At 1:00, Mary Lavin, Manager of Smokey Bear Historical Park, will present on the role of fire in Southwest forest ecosystems and how our relationship with fire has evolved over time.

Admission is $7 for adults and free for children 16 and under, New Mexico foster families, disabled veterans, and members of Fort Stanton Inc. and MNMF.

We recommend bringing a hat, water, and sturdy shoes for this engaging day of history, nature, and community.
